Jamaica's National Flower is the Lignum Vitae, which is actually a flowering tree that is native to Jamaica. The Lignum Vitae tree is also known by its Latin name Guiacum Officinale meaning "Wood of Life". The wood from this tree is also known as palo santo, green heart, holy wood and is also called iron wood because of its strength and toughness.

When it is burned, the smoke is believed to have both medicinal and therapeutic healing power. Traditionally, it is burned by Incas, indigenous people of the Andes, Shamans and medicine people for spiritual purifying, energy cleansing and healing.

In Spanish, the name literally means “Holy Wood”. It is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon.

Palo Santo is traditionally used for relieving common colds, flu symptoms, stress, asthma, headaches, anxiety, depression, inflammation, emotional pain and more.

Great for calming the immune and nervous systems for faster recovery of illness.
